Congress on Consecrated Life

The Caribbean and Latin American Confederation of Religious Men and Women

“Let us listen to God where life cries out”

Bogota, Colombia, (17) 18 to 21 June 2015

“The Congress on Consecrated Life (VC) 2015 intends to be an experience of grace, that will help us to discover the horizons of novelty in the living out of our Charisma today, in order to begin a new stage, ‘Listen to God where Consecrated Life cries out’; in this way it leads us and will lead us to live trustfully, the present time that has a future and to transform our life and mission”.  With these words which are found at the beginning of the Instumentum Laboris of the Congress on Consecrated Life, CLAR invites the participants to “synchronize their expectations” with the triple call of Pope Francis, on the occasion of the Year of Consecrated Life: (1) Look at the past with gratitude, in order to go back to the sources of the Gospel, recover the legacy of Vatican Council II and that of consecrated Life in Latin America and the Caribbean, in the past fifty years; (2) live the present with passion, to listen to the cries of Consecrated Life and to what the Spirit tells the Church, in the light of the Apostolic Exhortation Evangelii Gaudium; and (3) embrace the future with hope, so as to open ourselves to trust, creativity and dialogue, in the midst of the uncertainty that characterizes the present time”.

We joyfully share with you that some of our Sisters will have the opportunity to participate in this Congress:

  • Maria de la Paz Viniegra, RJM, invited by the Conference of Cuba
  • Carolina Salgado, RJM, invited by the Conference of Uruguay
  • Aurora Vanegas, RJM, of the Province of Colombia
  • Guillermina Ospino, RJM, of the Province of Colombia.

Those who desire to follow the process of the Congress of CLAR may consult the Web Page to see the electronic bulletins  which have been published up until now, as well as the Instumentum Laboris.  This material is available in Spanish, French and Portuguese.
